What Are Structured Settlements?

Posted by admin on April 29th, 2008 — Posted in Fortune

When someone has won a structured settlement that has arisen from a lawsuit, they expect they will have to wait a year or more just to receive the money, this is not true. There are many companies available to you that exist to purchase your settlement from you. These types of companies will pay you cash in exchange for the structured settlement or any portions of your periodic settlement that is remaining. What does this mean for you? Well this essentially means that you will receive a lump sum payment from the company who will purchase your structured settlement and have the ability to use it for anything they desire rather it be paying for college, purchasing a new home, paying off debts, investing into the future, anything you desire.

Generally, a structured settlement is the result of a lawsuit, this is an agreement made between you and the responsible party that you will accept specified payments from them in a specified period of time, as a result you will release them of any liability named in your lawsuit. There are a variety of payment methods you can choose from such as annual installments that come over several years or in payouts that come every few years. Other types of structured settlements include winnings from situations where the awards are of a substantial amount such as contests or lotteries.

Structured settlements are tax-free and used to provide financial security over the long term; however, many people choose to sell their settlement in order to gain the money right away. You have many options when it comes to selling your settlement, you can sell as little or as much as you want and fits your needs and wants. This is an option that many people take advantage of when they have receive a structured settlement of any type. They often like the advantage of having all the monies right away instead of having to wait years and years, which could hinder any plans of purchasing large ticket items such a home. Sometimes the payments will not be large enough to make any sort of significant investment without the need of saving for several years. This is where selling your structured settlement to a reputable company that has a high track record and solid integrity will do some good.

Spanish Food - How To Prepare Boquerones

Posted by admin on April 29th, 2008 — Posted in Eating Fun

Whilst on your travels in Spain and pausing to take a breath from
site-seeing, you have surely experimented with “tapas” at a
welcoming bar.

If this is the case, it is more than likely that you have come
across the small, tasty filleted fish, preserved in olive oil,
sliced garlic and chopped parsley, and highly popular throughout
Spain. This delectable dish is usually known as “boquerones” but,
depending on the area, can also be called “anchoas”.

Boquerones are small, fresh anchovies. Accompanied by crisp,
fresh Spanish bread, a glass of ruby-red wine or refreshing
Asturian cider, they are a delight to eat. Moreover - as with
many traditional Spanish dishes which comprise the renowned
Mediterranean Diet - they are extremely healthy.

Like its friend the sardine, the anchovy is an oily fish, packed
full of proteins and minerals, protecting against heart disease,
and “good” for cholesterol. What’s more, in many areas of Spain -
in particular the Mediterranean coast - fresh anchovies are
extremely cheap.

On first coming to Spain, I happily enjoyed many tapas of
boquerones, completely unaware of one fact … all those little
anchovies I had eaten were not cooked! For a moment, I deeply
regretted asking my Spanish neighbor, Carmen, how to make them!

Fortunately, Carmen went into immediate action and saved the day!
She frog-marched me to the local fishmongers, bought a kilo of the
little fish, took me home and showed me “her way” of preparing
them. They were so delicious that I quickly recovered my passion
for boquerones and have been enjoying them ever since!

Methods for preparing boquerones tend to vary slightly from family
to family. However, the basic principles are always the same.
You first have to clean and fillet the fish, which is simple
enough, but rather tedious until you get the hang of it.

Next, you soak the fillets, either in white wine vinegar or a
mixture of half vinegar and half water. The vinegar will clean
and bleach the fish and also soften any remaining little bones.
Some people sprinkle the fish with salt; others (myself included)
feel that the fish is salty enough already.

The fish has to be left for a good few hours soaking in the
vinegar. Again, this tends to vary, with some Spaniards leaving
them overnight in the fridge and others just waiting a couple of
hours. Also, some families change the vinegar/water-and-vinegar
mixture once during this process, whilst others don’t bother.

Once you have thrown away the vinegar, the bleached fillets are
covered with a good quality virgin olive oil, which will preserve
them. You can add as much, or as little, sliced garlic as you
wish, plus freshly chopped parsley.

So … here is the actual recipe.

BOQUERONES

Ingrediants:

- 1 kilo fresh anchovies.

- White wine vinegar.

- Virgin olive oil.

- Garlic.

- Parsley.

- Salt (optional).

Method:

1. Top and tail anchovies.

2. Slit along underside and discard innards.

3. Open out fish.

4. Remove central bone by lifting from tail end upwards.

5. Rinse well.

6. Place a layer of anchovy fillets in a shallow dish.

7. Sprinkle with salt (optional) and pour on plenty of vinegar.

8. Repeat with another layer, changing direction.

9. Leave to soak in vinegar for a few hours or overnight.

10. Pour off vinegar.

11. Very gently rinse fillets.

12. Cover fillets in virgin olive oil.

13. Add slices of garlic and chopped parsley.

It is so pleasant to find something in life that is a delight to
the senses, affordable, healthy and does nobody any harm
(apologies to any vegetarians out there and, also, the little
anchovies …). So … do make the most of fresh anchovies
whilst you are in Spain and enjoy!

TV Commercials. Why?

Posted by admin on April 29th, 2008 — Posted in Pastime

I was watching a prime time TV show recently, on one of the
major networks, and it seemed that after about every 7-8 minutes
of the show there were 3 full minutes of back-to-back, non-stop
commercials. I was bombarded with what seemed like a dozen ads
in a row, promoting cars, drugs, cell phone service providers
and, via multiple promotional ads, subjected to hype about other
TV shows on that same network.

Years ago, the TV networks argued that because TV was free the
viewer had to endure some TV commercials. OK, that made some
sense. But TV is NOT free any longer. Today, we consumers now
pay $30 … $60 … maybe up to $100 or more … a month …
just to get TV reception and more channels. So TV is no longer
“free” at all. And if TV is no longer free, then why are we
viewers being subjected to TV commercials? Not only are we still
being subjected to TV commercials we are being subjected to more
and more of them!

Why? Because we’re getting screwed, that’s why.

And, in protest, I’m turning off my TV and, instead of watching
TV imbedded with tons of commercials, I’m going to read a book
that I got from my local public library. Free. No commercials.

Top 5 Tips For Effective E-mail Marketing

Posted by admin on April 29th, 2008 — Posted in Marketers Den

Over the past few years, research has continued to prove the benefits of e-mail marketing for business: low costs, high conversion rates and detailed tracking are all notable features. But e-mail marketing is becoming much more than just a tool for spammers and e-businesses. Consumers are becoming increasingly savvy on the differences between spam and permission-based emails, and more and more of them are accepting permission-based e-mail marketing as a positive replacement for direct mail.

The best news is that the majority of people who receive permission-based e-mails open, on average, 78% of them.

Jupiter Research reports effective email marketing campaigns can produce nine times the revenues and 18 times the profits of broadcast mailings. But crafting an effective business email is both an art and a science. Here is a list of factors, potential problems and effective solutions to keep in mind:

1. Spam! Spam! Spam! I don’t need any Viagra!
The average consumer receives more than 300 emails a week, 62% of which are spam. No wonder there’s such hostility towards the industry. But spam filters, bulk folders and “report spam” features are helping consumers become more at ease about the perils of spam. While 89% of users cited spam as a major concern in 2003, that number dropped to 85% in 2004, proportionally to an increase in the use of spam-fighting tools.

So as a permission-based business email marketer, what can you do? One tip is to remind your subscribers to add you to their “safe senders” list. The second, and most important, tactic is to make sure your email marketing service provider has a good relationship with ISPs. This will ensure that your email marketing campaigns go into your subscribers’ inboxes, not their junk mail folders. When choosing an email marketing software, make sure the company has strict anti-spam policies and complies with the guidelines of Can-Spam.

2. Images and formatting: Why do my emails look broken?
Broken email campaigns are an increasing concern among email marketers, especially since several companies and web-based email providers now block graphics as a measure to combat spam. In fact, according to ClickZ, 40% of email marketing messages delivered to inboxes are “broken.”

This was actually something that came up during Eliteweb.cc’s beta-testing phases, as we had a client in the Canadian Government whose recipients were mostly using highly secure email programs. The solution we came up has now become one of our key competitive advantages.

What Eliteweb.cc does is it publishes every single email marketing campaign sent to a secure location on the web (a location only original recipients of the email can access, thanks to encrypted technology that automatically authenticates the user). The technology also ensures you can track your users’ behaviors, even if they are reading your email campaign at the secure web location.

3. Personalization and relevant content: In a business e-mail, one size does not fit all.
In a recent study by DoubleClick, email users were 72% more likely to respond to a business e-mail if its content was based on the interests they had specified. That number points out the absolute importance of allowing users to choose their own interest groups and have control over which business e-mails they receive. The most popular interest categories, according to the study, are coupons and household goods.

But you’re coupon is no good unless the user opens the email. Users in the study said the most compelling reason for them to open a business email is the name in the “from” field. So it’s a good idea to make sure your company name is clearly stated there. Another major factor is the “subject” line. Users cite discount offers and interesting news as the most compelling subject lines, followed by new product announcements and free shipping offers.

4. Click-through and conversion: Show me the money!
So the user has opened your email and read the content. Great. But where’s the sale? There’s good news here. For one, consumers are increasingly likely to make purchases as a direct result of a business email campaign. One-third of users in the DoubleClick study had purchased something by clicking a link on an email. Another 42% clicked on an email link for more information, then purchased the product at a later time. Second, online couponing is booming: 73% of consumers have redeemed an online coupon for an online purchase, and 59% have redeemed an online coupon offline.

In terms of industries, the top performers are travel, hardware/software, electronics, apparel, food, home furnishings, gifts/flowers and sporting goods. All companies sending business emails in those categories said between 71% and 80% of recipients have purchased their products because of an email campaign.

There’s no need to fret if your company doesn’t fit in to one of those industries. The overall landscape for email marketing conversions is looking brighter every day. The average click-to-purchase rate has increased nearly 30% since 2004 and the average orders-per-email-delivered rate has increased more than 18% since last year.

5. Stats tracking: Who are my real consumers?
E-mail marketing is an increasingly popular tool in effective CRM, and it’s about time more businesses recognize that. First off, if your provider’s email services for business do not include detailed, real-time tracking, you’re getting a raw deal. Real-time tracking is now an industry standard, and it’s highly valuable, as it allows you to see the exact moment a user opens your campaign, clicks on your link and makes that purchase. Studying your users can help you improve your communications efforts, so each campaign performs better than the last (several email service providers also let you compare the performance of your campaigns).

But many marketers are still in the dark. According to a recent WebTrends research, only 5% of marketers are very confident in the measurement of their online marketing efforts, while 26% admit they’re “flying blind.” WebTrends says the low confidence comes from a lack of knowledge when it comes to measurement, which means there’s still a lot of work to be done.

In email marketing, a blind shot won’t take you very far. But if you aim properly by following these essential rules of play, you should soon be reaping the same major results as so many online and offline businesses.

Exercises For Golfers Pay Huge Dividends

Posted by admin on April 28th, 2008 — Posted in Sports News + More

Exercises for golfers may seem like an oxymoron, but I’m here to
tell they are most definitely not. Golf is physical! Golf causes
injury! Golf can very easily break down the body! To hit the
ball maximum distance, your body has to have a higher level of
golf specific strength and flexibility.

The above statements are fact.

To play your best golf you need to implement exercises for
golfers as soon as possible. The sooner you start, the sooner
you will see results on the course.

So what’s the difference between going to the gym and plopping
down on machines and doing exercises for golfers?

First off…do you sit when you play golf?

Then why would you sit in a “controlled” machine thinking it
will improve your golf?

Golf is “on your feet” and in a dynamic position (golf posture).

Because the demands for golf are so unique, you need to approach
your golf improvement from a different angle than just going
into a gym and thinking it will help your golf game.

Exercises for golfers doesn’t just mean strength exercises.
You’ve got to do golf
stretching exercises as well.

Whenever I hear a golfer say he/she needs to stretch more…my
first thought is “they are missing the boat”. Golf stretching
without golf
exercise is not permanent flexibility.

Here’s an example for you.

Stretch a rubber band. Now stretch it more and more. What
happens to the rubber band? It gets brittle and eventually
breaks.

Picture your muscles just like that rubber band.

The winning combination is golf exercise and golf stretching .
This will give you the best results.

When putting together your exercises for golfers program, take a
look at the body position required to make a mechanically sound
swing.

Once you realize this dynamic and very unique position, you can
do golf exercises specific to this position.

Things to remember.

* Do the majority of your golf exercises on your feet. * Do them
in your golf posture if at all possible. * Keep your knees
flexed, just like your golf swing. * Do as many rotational
exercises as possible. * Make sure to do the follow through side
of the swing. * Do a high enough repetition to promote golf
muscular endurance.

Exercises for golfers can be fun and keep you motivated to stick
with your program. Adherence is the main culprit for lack of
results. Like any fitness or weight loss program, if you don’t
do it consistently you won’t see the results.

Staying motivated by picturing the “end-result” on the course
will be a huge help. Envision you on that first tee a more
powerful and fit golfer. Picture blasting your drives by all
your playing partners. And lastly, paint a strong visual of you
having the lowest score consistently when you play in your
normal golf groups.

I hope you now have a better understanding of exercises for
golfers.

7 Advanced Affiliate Marketing Strategies

Posted by admin on April 28th, 2008 — Posted in Commerce Resources

If you want to make more money as an affiliate promoting other people’s products, you have to set yourself apart from other affiliates. Here are seven advanced strategies that will help you do so:

1. Mailing List

Build your own mailing list of prospects. Keep promoting different affiliate programs to the people on your list, as opposed to losing the visitor forever once they clicked over to the merchant’s site.

2. Success Stories

Write an inspirational success story on how this product helped you or someone you know. After identifying with your success story, many people will be ready to buy.

3. Reviews

Write a detailed review of the product with pros and cons. Of course, the pros should outweigh the cons. People will trust the review much more than a sales pitch.

4. Pay Per Click

Try Pay Per Click advertising on Google Adwords and Overture. Start out with a small budget to test the waters. If your sales commissions are greater than the cost of advertising, continue and expand your Pay Per Click campaign.

5. Blogs

Start a blog on a subject relevant to affiliate programs that you promote. Add affiliate links to your posts. Search engines love blogs, so you will get a lot of traffic.

6. Articles

Write articles releated to the product or service you promote. At the end of your articles, include your author bio with your affiliate link. Other websites will publish your articles and bring you free targeted traffic.

7. Tracking

Always track how many visitors you are sending to each affiliate program, and how many sales you get from those visitors. This way you will separate the winning affiliate programs from the losers, and focus on promoting the most profitable ones.

Ceremony Accessories

Posted by admin on April 28th, 2008 — Posted in Web Of Relationships

Decorations to your ceremony site can provide a personal feeling to you and your guests. The location of your ceremony is going to determine how much or how little decoration is allowed for. During the planning process, you should familiarize yourself with the location to learn what can and can’t be done. Some venues may be more liberal than others when it comes to decorations. The manager of the property should be able to advise you of any restrictions. You should insist to have any restrictions and rules included in the contract.

If you are lucky, decorations may already be included in the site fee. Event facilities specializing normally include items such as chairs, aisle runners, kneeling benches, candelabras, unity candleholders, and bridal archways in the site fee. If you choose a facility that does not, or only provides certain d©cor, than you’ll need provide your own decoration. Your wedding planner should be able to recommend local rental companies. Be sure that the decoration compliments the location and the style of your wedding.

When considering a ceremony location you should ask the following questions:

What are the fees, and what is included?

How much time is allowed for the ceremony? Is there are ceremony before or after yours?

Are their any restrictions regarding ceremony attire?

How many people will the venue hold? Is the venue insured?

How much are the cleanup fees, in case rice, birdseed, or rose petals be thrown?

Is there a changing room available?

Are there any restrictions regarding flowers or candles?

What are the rules regarding photography?

Are there any noise or music related restrictions?

Is there enough parking?

Does it have a view?

Be sure to get everything in writing. You may verbally agree on something, but requirements and concerns written in your contract are going to be more effective in case of any disputes.

Current Home Mortgage Interest Rates

Posted by admin on April 27th, 2008 — Posted in Real Estate Resources

When you borrow money, methods of repayment vary with the type of mortgage. If you have a capital repayment or annuity mortgage, your monthly payments are made up in part of the interest you pay on the amount borrowed, and in part on repayment of the loan itself, called capital. Capital is the term applicable for the money you have borrowed and are paying back directly to your lender. Unless the interest rate changes, your monthly payments remain the same through out the period of your mortgage.

In the first year of your mortgage, most of your monthly payment is interest on the loan, and only a tiny amount is paying off the capital. Your monthly mortgage payments in the second year will be the same, but the proportions of interest and capital will begin to change so that your payments will consist of slightly less interest than in your first year, and slightly more capital.

As each year goes by, you will pay off more of the amount borrowed. As you pay interest on a smaller and smaller amount, more capital is paid off and by the end of the loan period your payment is almost all capital, with only a tiny amount of interest. Some capital repayment mortgages require only a very small amount of the capital to be repaid in the first few years. The payment of capital is loaded into the remainder of the term, so as to make the monthly payments less costly at the onset. These are called low-start capital repayment mortgages. The mortgage protection life insurance policy requires you to make a small payment but it is very important, as it makes sure that your family is not left with the worry of repaying the loan if you die before the end of the term.
